Drone Academy – Educational Service Terms of Service
The use of services from or the subscription to Drone Academy will be bound to these Terms of Service.
Account Access Limitations
Drone Academy may revoke your access to Drone Academy if you violate, or assist others in violating, the license limitations set forth below. You agree that you will not, in whole or in part or under any circumstances, do the following:
Derivative Works: Copy or reproduce translate, reverse engineer, derive source code from, modify, disassemble, decompile, or create derivative works based on or related to the Drone Academy.
Bots: i.e. any code and/or software, not expressly authorized by Drone Academy, that allows the automated control of Drone Academy and/or any component or feature thereof.
Hacks: i.e. accessing or modifying the software of Drone Academy in any manner, not expressly authorized by Drone Academy; and/or
Any code and/or software, not expressly authorized by Drone Academy, that can be used in connection with the Drone Academy system (e.g. software designed to bypass the video encryption of Drone Academy training videos).
Disruption: Disrupt or assist in the disruption of (i) any computer used to support Drone Academy; or (ii) any other student’s learning experience.
ANY ATTEMPT BY YOU TO DISRUPT DRONE ACADEMY OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF ANY TRAINING RESOURCES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS.
Violation of Laws: Use Drone Academy, to violate any applicable law or regulation.
Assignment and Re-assignment of Accounts:
FOR INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNTS: Only you are allowed to access an account assigned to you. Your account is registered in your name using your email address as the Username. An account is assigned to one, named user, for the entire account, subscription period and cannot be shared.
FOR TEAM ACCOUNTS: Licenses may be reassigned to other users in the organization if the original user is no longer in need of the license. Any license may be re-assigned by a Team or Organization Administrator to a different user for the remainder of your organization’s account subscription period. However, licenses cannot be assigned using generic Email Addresses, Usernames, or Login/User ID’s, e.g., “email@example.com”, “Building_A_5th Floor” or “Drone_Team_1”, etc.
All training videos, materials, and community activity can be used for learning purposes during the period of time the user maintains an active subscription to the Drone Academy site.
During the period of time that the user maintains an active subscription to Drone Academy, the following activities are expressly forbidden:
Reselling access to the courses
Providing any third party utility, server or application that is not in direct relation to the courses available on Drone Academy
Using the Drone Academy Messaging Service as a mail sender
Deploying or using an internet proxy server
Use or access in or from ANY commercial production environment under any circumstances
Download or distribution of site source code
Distribution of any Drone Academy downloadable material (including course notes)
Backup and Data Loss
Use of Drone Academy is at the sole risk of the end user. Drone Academy provides no backup facility or process for backing up user files. Drone Academy attempts to moderate all community activities but is not responsible for files and/or data that may be uploaded to the community servers. The subscriber assumes all responsibility for the backup of files and data stored within each instance.
As these Cloud Servers are not intended to be used in any commercial or production environment, Drone Academy does not offer any guarantees regarding uptime, availability or stability. Use of these servers is at the sole risk of the end user and Drone Academy shall not be held liable for their use or contents.
Anything that is done or originates from a user’s account/profile is the sole responsibility of the account holder and Drone Academy will not provide any legal protection or indemnification for any activity that would be illegal in any state, country or province. Additionally, Drone Academy will take immediate steps to remediate reported issues that originate from any user, up to and including any of the following:
Shutting off the service causing the issue
Removing the user, profile, or material causing the issue
An active Drone Academy subscription does not entitle the end user to site access use if it has been determined that it has been abused. Determination of abuse is at the sole discretion of Drone Academy and can be made at any time for any reason, whether outlined specifically in this agreement or otherwise.
Monthly Recurring Billing: Accounts, will be billed on a monthly basis under this plan. The accounts can be canceled at anytime and will remain active for the duration of the subscription and a prorated refund will not be issued.
Quarterly Recurring Billing: Accounts, will be billed on a quarterly basis under this plan. The accounts can be canceled at anytime and will remain active for the duration of the subscription and a prorated refund will not be issued.
Semi-annual Recurring Billing: Accounts, will be billed on a semi-annual basis under this plan. The accounts can be canceled at anytime and will remain active for the duration of the subscription and a prorated refund will not be issued.
Annual Recurring Billing: Accounts, will be billed on a yearly basis under this plan. The accounts can be canceled at anytime and will remain active for the duration of the subscription and a prorated refund will not be issued.
PAYMENTS ARE NONREFUNDABLE AND THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR PARTIALLY USED PERIODS.
You must cancel your membership before it renews in order to avoid billing of the next month’s membership fees to your Payment Method.
When a cancellation request is received and processed, your account will remain active for the duration of the paid period, prorated refunds are not issued.
Trial Accounts will automatically upgrade to the subscription chosen during account creation after the trial period. Cancel your account during the trial period and owe nothing. There are no refunds once the trial ends.
ANY DISTRIBUTION OF DOWNLOADED CONTENT IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
Drone Academy provides unlimited access to all courses as well as streaming course content. Downloadable Study Guides are available for many courses and should only be used for training purposes. Attempting to resell, distribute, or share these files without express written permission of Drone Academy will result in immediate account termination and criminal/civil charges where applicable.
If it is determined that a student has violated these Terms of Service, their account may be canceled immediately and no refunds will be issued.
Data Protection and Retention
Drone Academy strives to protect all of our student and user data at all times. We only collect and store data that is necessary to supply our products and services. We only do this with the explicit, written consent of our customers.
By accessing or using the Sites in any manner, you also agree to be bound by Drone Academy’s Terms of Service (the “Agreement”). Please read the Agreement carefully. If you do not accept all of the terms and conditions contained in or incorporated by reference into the Agreement, please do not use the Sites.
All posting in Groups, Activity Feed, or Forums is subject to admin approval and posting of promotional items without admin approval is specifically prohibited.
Unauthorized posting of promotional material or spam will result in the post being removed and may result in suspension/cancellation of the poster’s account.
In the event of account cancellation, access will be immediately terminated and there will be no refund granted for any prepaid membership fees.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When you subscribe with us, we’ll ask you to provide an email address. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:
— Send you information about your account and subscriptions. This may include payment receipts, password reset emails, and payment reminders.
— Create your membership account
We store course progress, including completion status, quiz scores, assignments and/or essay submissions (if applicable).
We will also store comments on courses, lessons, topics, assignments, and essays if you choose to leave them.
We may process and store personal data about your interactions using xAPI. We use the data to learn about how well the interactions are designed and how it could be adapted to improve the usability and your learning outcomes. The data is processed and stored [on our platform until further notice.
We may store the results of your interactions on our platform until further notice. The results may contain your score, the maximum score possible, when you started, when you finished, and how much time you used. We use the results to learn about how well you performed and to help us give you feedback.
We may store interactive content that you create on our platform. We also may send anonymized reports about content creation without any personal data to the plugin creators. Please consult the H5P tracking information page for details.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Drone Academy uses contact forms on our site as a method of communication with current and prospective students. Information submitted in a contact form is used only for customer service purposes. At no time is the data used for marketing and is not sold or given to a third party without the user’s consent.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Social Features (BuddyPress)
When you register for the site, you may be asked to provide certain personal data for display on your profile. The “Name” field is required as well as public, and user profiles are visible to any site visitor. Other profile information may be required or optional, as configured by the site administrator.
User information provided during account registration can be modified or removed on the Profile > Edit panel. In most cases, users also have control over who is able to view a particular piece of profile content, limiting visibility on a field-by-field basis to friends, logged-in users, or administrators only. Site administrators can read and edit all profile data for all users.
This site records certain user actions, in the form of “activity” data. Activity includes updates and comments posted directly to activity streams, as well as descriptions of other actions performed while using the site, such as new friendships, newly joined groups, and profile updates.
The content of activity items obey the same privacy rules as the contexts in which the activity items are created. For example, activity updates created in a user’s profile is publicly visible, while activity items generated in a private group are visible only to members of that group. Site administrators can view all activity items, regardless of context.
Activity items may be deleted at any time by users who created them. Site administrators can edit all activity items
Who we share your data with
As a general rule, we treat your data like Frodo treated the One Ring…We ‘keep it secret, keep it safe.’ The only ones who get access to it is our payment processors (only if you are on a paid account), and our email provider (MailChimp.)
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
