I saw the announcement of the Anduril Roadrunner and realized that there wasn’t a Counter UAS group to post it in so I made one 🙂
Has everyone seen this cool c-UAS drone? It uses ducted jets/thrust vectoring for VTOL and can even land (like a Space X rocket) if it doesn’t engage a target!

Roadrunner defines a radical new class of operator-supervised autonomous air vehicles capable of high subsonic speeds, high G-force maneuvers, and VTOL return to base for reuse.

I have some good friends who work for Anduril and they are super excited about this product! I’d love to know how long it can loiter for before it has to land. Jet propulsion tends to be pretty fuel hungry. Either way, this is a pretty cool interceptor; it will be interesting to see if they modify it for ground targets as well. If so, it could be a strong competitor to the Switchblade.
