Best Black Friday Drone Deals

It’s that time of year again, where the frivolous desires of drone lovers all across the land become slightly more reasonable as retailers attempt to entice consumers by slashing prices on some of their most popular gear!

So, if you’ve been holding off on throwing down your hard earned cash until you can find the perfect deal, keep reading to find out if this is your year!

DJI

Consumer favorite, DJI, just announced their Black Friday promotions and they are not too shabby.  The Mavic Pro and Spark both get $100 chopped right off the top to bring their prices down to $899 and $399 respectively.  In addition to the discount, DJI is kind enough to throw in a free landing pad, prop holders, and a control stick guard.  If you’re a heavy user and want some extra battery time, pick up the “Fly More Combo” to get 2 extra batteries, a nice carry bag, a charging dock, and some spare props.

Mavic Pro

The Mavic Pro is a great drone that easily folds up into a small, easily transportable package.  Gone are the days of needing a full pelican case full of equipment just to get a nice 4k shot.  With collision avoidance sensors in the front, a 27-minute flight time, and a 2.5mi (unobstructed) range, this drone is great for beginners and seasoned drone operators alike.  DJI is offering $100 off the base unit, or $150 off the Fly More Combo which includes 2 extra batteries, a leather carrying bag, some spare props, and a charging dock.

Spark

The Spark was announced earlier this Summer, people were amazed at how DJI managed to put a gimbal stabilized camera in such a small aircraft.  While the Spark’s camera is not quite as sophisticated as the Mavic’s, it does well for what it is intended; which is essentially a flying selfie camera!  Great for less experienced flyers, and the gesture controls let you feel like a Jedi!

Phantom 4

If something a little larger is what your heart desires, you can grab a Phantom 4 (Regular or Pro) and get an extra battery for free.

Sadly, it doesn’t appear as though any discounts will be offered for the Inspire series.

GoPro

GoPro’s only drone, the Karma, is getting a nice $200 discount this holiday season.

Between now and November 27th, you can pick up a Karma with a GoPro Hero 6 Black camera for only $999!

Keep in mind, with the Karma Drone, you also get the Karma Grip, a handheld gimbal for your GoPro Camera!  Similar to the DJI Osmo, the Karma Grip allows you to get awesome, gyro-stabilized footage in the air and on the ground.

While Amazon has not announced any steep discounts on high-end drones, they do have pretty good Black Friday deals on a couple AirHog drones that will appeal to Star Wars fans and those more value conscious drone enthusiasts.

Best Buy, Sam’s Club, Costco, Walmart, etc…

While Costco, Walmart, Best Buy and other retailers are all offering similar discounts ($100 for Mavic Pro and Spark,) I have not yet found one who is giving a larger discount than the manufacturers.

Walmart

Walmart does have an exclusive discount on the Yuneek Breeze 4k drone.  Normally retailing for $299 or more, you can pick it up for just $199 on Walmart’s Website.

This drone is simple enough for beginners and is a great opportunity to get (non-stabilized) 4k footage for < $200!
